High Quality
Packages perform important functions for the consumer: they protect sensitive foods and beverages during transport and storage, ensure freshness and hygiene and much more.
And here the beverage can also has many advantages to offer: it is the only package which is absolutely impermeable for light and oxygen. Thanks to the excellent barrier characteristics and due to hermetic closure it is particularly well suited to beverages sensitive to light and oxygen such as beer, for example. For the beverage producers the optimum quality of their canned product is thus ensured together with long shelf life.
The consumer can already tell by the typical ‘hissing‘ sound when the beverage can is opened that the contents are absolutely fresh: when the consumer takes the can out of the shelf it is certain that the product is in the originally packaged, untouched state.
For the consumer it is, above all, light: easy to transport because of the low weight, easy to open and it can be cooled easily and quickly. Moreover it is unbreakable, therefore breakage-proof, and hence, because of the low danger of injury, also suitable for children.
Thanks to the brilliant printability, the beverage can permits glossy, high-class decorative design. In the supermarket shelf it hence attracts the consumer’s attention as a shining ‘mini-advertising column’. As a marketing instrument the beverage can provides a large variety of possibilities. As the can continues to provide a high innovation potential, the possibilities also for the future have by no means been exhausted yet.
It is possible to cool the beverage can faster than any other package and it is therefore also economical as regards energy consumption even during cooling. For example, in the case of a 47cl aluminium can it takes 16.7 minutes to cool it down from 23 degrees centigrade to 4.4 degrees centigrade, in the case of a 47cl PET bottle this takes 21.3 minutes, for a 47cl glass bottle it takes 21.7 minutes.
