Solutions for Beer & Alcopops

Beer has been canned for 70 years – and for good reason. The beverage can is the only light-proof and gas-proof container.

Beer is particularly sensitive to light because light generates chemical reactions in the hops. In the metal cylinder, the beer is completely protected from such adverse influences. The gas impermeability is an additional safety factor: Oxygen cannot penetrate the can and carbon dioxide cannot escape. The quality of the beer therefore remains constant in the can far longer than in any other container.

The consumer can treat quality protection lightly: the low weight of the can makes it ideal for the take-home market, whether as single-serve container or in a multi-pack.

The variety of design options offered by the beverage can attract the desired attention to product innovations on the supermarket shelf: Cans are ideal to display trendy beer mix drinks and alcopops attractively for specific target groups. From "quirky" to "sophisticated", an appropriate can design underlines the respective brand character. For example, eye-catching formats can be used to successfully differentiate alcopops from competitors - such as the 0.25-litre slimline can which consumers regard as particularly "chic" according to market surveys.
