Can & Drinking Straws

The beverage can with a drinking straw is a packaging solution with which nothing can go amiss.

The can has a special end with a very small opening into which the drinking straw fits perfectly. As the drinking straw completely fills the small opening, there is very little chance of beverage spillage, even if the can should topple over.

The straw can means convenient, hygienic beverage enjoyment, in particular for consumption on the move, e.g. whilst travelling. For children, the straw can is also the ideal container. It is possible to drink the beverage directly from the can without having to tip back one's head. This also facilitates drinking for persons with health handicaps and older target groups. Another convenient benefit is that it is not necessary to use the straw to pierce a protective foil in order to open the container. The drinking straw is hygienically packed in a transparent film and attached to the side of the can.

The straw can is particularly suitable for non carbonated beverages such as juices and milk drinks. The can with the specially designed straw opening end is already commercially available in end diameters 200 and 202 DIA, but is in principle suitable for all can sizes and can end diameters. The straw can was developed by Ball Corporation, the parent company of Ball Packaging Europe.
