Customer Technical Service

The Customer Technical Service department (in short: CTS) at Ball Packaging Europe provides our customers throughout Europe with advice and technical support both locally and from the Bonn Technical Center.

The primary aim of the CTS team is to guarantee optimal process control when filling beverages into cans. Our CTS engineers are completely familiar with the respective individual requirements of our customers as they co-operate closely with the customers and regularly visit their can filling plants.

In their regular contacts, they are informed at an early stage about any process, product or requirement changes at the customer's plan and can ensure together with the customer that our beverage cans are the best match for the particular application.

Our CTS engineers specialise in can filling and double seaming technologies, pasteurising / sterilisation processes, the use of liquid nitrogen for non carbonated beverages, and in can handling, storage and logistics. In short: in all technical processes and systems involved in the filling of beverages in cans. Throughout Europe, our specialists exchange experience about the latest systems and techniques and can therefore pass on their acquired knowledge to our customers as "best practice".

Filling Line Performance

The engineers from our Customer Technical Service (CTS) teams advise and assist the technical staff at our customers' facilities to continuously enhance the filling process performance. The key focus is on increasing line efficiency.  They check that the filling lines, double seaming machines and measuring instruments are correctly set.  In addition they carry out line efficiency analyses (audits).  These audits encompass the entire process - from the supply and unloading of the empty cans, through the filling and right up to the storage of the filled cans pallets.  Our CTS engineers draw up comprehensive enhancement proposals for all departments.  By applying the results of the line efficiency analyses, it is possible to significantly increase the filling line performance and reduce filling line spoilage rates.
